Masar Destination, a leading urban destination in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is now supported by ACES NH wireless mobile network using Nokia Airscale Baseband and ANDREW ERA® Digital Distributed Antenna System.
This iconic landmark development leverages ERA’s all-digital architecture and multi-power radios to deliver wide-area coverage and high-capacity 4G and 5G services, including 5G 4x4 MIMO over a 100 MHz channel.
This landmark deployment is the result of the successful and historical partnership between Nokia, ANDREW and The Leader Digital Infrastructure Provider in the region – ACES NH. This demonstrates how Nokia, ANDREW ERA's all-digital architecture and native CPRI connectivity are transforming large-scale indoor wireless networks. By connecting the mobile operator's BBU of Nokia directly to the ERA headend through CDD cards, ERA eliminates traditional analog interface layers, simplifying network integration while delivering the performance and scalability required for next-generation 4G and 5G services.
With native CPRI connectivity, the mobile operator’s BBU connects directly to the ERA headend through CDD cards, simplifying integration, and eliminating traditional analog interface layers.
Compared with a conventional RF-interface design, this architecture significantly reduces the required infrastructure, delivering approximately 57% fewer racks, 56% lower space requirements, and 60% lower overall power consumption. This also reduces cooling requirements and supports a more efficient and sustainable approach to large-scale indoor connectivity. Together, Nokia, Andrew and ACES NH proudly announce this successful deployment reinforcing our shared commitment to enabling the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision through World-Class Digital Infrastructure and Carbon Footprint Reduction.
