Mr. Atef Aburas Leads Strategic Discussion on the Future of Stadium Connectivity Mr. Atef Aburas, Group COO and Co-Founder of ACES, moderated the panel “Stadiums Connectivity – Demonstrating Industry Innovation in Deployment of Mobile Networks.” at SCWS 2025 - Saudi Arabia.
The session brought together global leaders in stadium RF engineering and infrastructure innovation — Richard Heseltine (SOLiD), Anis Khoury (ANDREW), Ahmed Hasanain (Comba), and Sadegh Farzaneh (Galtronics Canada) — to address the technical and operational challenges of delivering high-performance 5G connectivity in ultra-dense venues.
The discussion highlighted how the industry is advancing stadium networks through elastic and modular DAS architectures, AI-driven antenna optimization, hybrid RAN and Open RAN integration, and next-generation multi-beam antenna systems designed for dynamic crowd environments. Panelists explored innovations ranging from real-time capacity scaling, uplink-optimized solutions, and low-PIM multi-operator components to AI/ML-powered network analytics, compact architecturally integrated antennas, and 6G-ready wideband designs. Together, these insights reinforced how future stadiums will rely on a seamless blend of flexible infrastructure, intelligent RF engineering, and dense radio topologies to deliver consistent, high-quality connectivity for fans and venue operators.
The panel reaffirmed that modern stadiums are becoming fully digital ecosystems — demanding deterministic latency, massive uplink capacity, architectural integration, and seamless multi-operator connectivity.
Mr. Atef’s moderation brought out the core message: industry innovation, collaboration, and forward-looking RF design will define the fan experience in the era of 5G and beyond, especially as the region prepares for global sporting events and increasingly connected venues.
