Which includes voice and data transmission, wireless, telephony, satellite, security systems and electronic equipment.
According to the agency of classification standards, there are five classes for contractors in this field, each class indicates the maximum value for one project that the contractor can perform:
Class 5 : 5 Million SAR
Class 4: 15 Million SAR
Class 3: 50 Million SAR
Class 2: 200 Million SAR
Class 1: More than 200 million SAR
The Deputy Ministry for Contractors classification evaluates contractors working in the Kingdom, either in construction or operations and maintenance, in order to grant them a suitable classification according to their abilities. As a result, contractors can compete in bidding for Government contracts according to this classification. This is of great assistance in organising contracting work, to ensure that contractors are capable of executing important projects essential to the development of the national economy.
Contractors classification has become necessary to allow companies to enter bids for Government contracts. Classification specifies the abilities and specialities of the contractor and his financial and managerial situation. The aims of classification are to develop and state the ability to operate in the contracting fields of construction, maintenance and operation, by classifying contractors according to their scientific experience, technical, managerial and financial ability. The speciality of contractors and degree of classification is defined in a way that guarantees the successful execution of contracts, both for the owner and contractor. It prevents the contractor entering into contracts beyond his capabilities and disputes arising between contractors and owners due to the lack of ability to perform according to the terms and requirements of the contract documents.
